On March 14 & 15, 2018 the 15th edition of the Campus for Supply Chain Management will take place. For the first time, the conference will also be hosted in the new town hall of Vallendar besides the campus of the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. Our next conference will cover the topic of Real-time Visibility and Accessibility in Supply Chain Management.

Campus for Supply Chain Management

2018 Topic: Real-time Visibility and Accessibility in Supply Chain Management

As complexity and size of Supply Chain Management have significantly increased, it has become even more important to create transparency along the supply chain. Therefore, we have decided to choose “Real-time Visibility and Accessibility” as the topic for CSCM 2018.
One goal is to establish a Supply Chain Management in which the gathered data is shared with suppliers and customers in order to match demand and supply. Secondly, a system in which data is shared in real-time will not only reduce the complexity of SCM and logistics, but also enable customers to obtain price information in real-time.
Creating more transparency in logistics and SCM will establish a more efficient and interconnected market. This process is heavily interdependent on the ongoing digitization as data will have to be analyzed in order to be accessed by suppliers and customers. Managing information flows will be one of the major challenges for logistics companies and those within the supply chain in the future.

Our Mission Statement

The “WHU Campus for Supply Chain Management”, which is planned and organized by WHU students, aims at providing a platform for exchange among academic, corporate and student participants. Industrial best practice combined with the latest results from research in supply chain management are meant to illustrate important challenges as well as innovative solutions. We thus hope to advance the knowledge in SCM, to share expertise and to provoke lively discussions. We shall be delighted to have you as our guests on campus!
