On March 14 & 15, 2019 the 16th edition of the Campus for Supply Chain Management will take place. For the second time, the conference will also be hosted in the new town hall of Vallendar besides the campus of the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. Our next conference will cover the topic of Logistics driven by innovation: How will cities cope with the increasing parcel demand?
Modern day Logistics and Supply Chain Management find itself in a turmoil of rapid change and evolution. There is a constant flow of new ideas, concepts and technologies that are supposed to tackle the problems associated with the Supply Chain Management. Simultaneously increasing pace, efficiency and sustainability prove to be challenging and evermore important as the global parcel volume is predicted to double by 2025.
Discussions will center around the question of how the necessary delivery systems and infrastructure will be provided for the ever-increasing demand for deliveries. The topic will deal with the challenges of Last-Mile delivery, optimisation of existing and creation of new processes and how innovation will drive new ideas to progress Supply Chain Management.
The “WHU Campus for Supply Chain Management”, which is planned and organized by WHU students, aims at providing a platform for exchange among academic, corporate and student participants. Industrial best practice combined with the latest results from research in supply chain management are meant to illustrate important challenges as well as innovative solutions. We thus hope to advance the knowledge in SCM, to share expertise and to provoke lively discussions. We shall be delighted to have you as our guests on campus!
